The IR-4 Project

The IR-4 Project

Environmental Horticulture

The Environmental Horticulture Program facilitates the registration of sustainable pest management technology for horticulture crops to enhance human health and well-being.

IR-4 coordinates national and regional research projects that address grower needs for horticulture production including greenhouse and nursery crops.  Horticulture crops provide major economic value for southern states.  Growers and consumers benefit by having more pest management tools and resistance management strategies.

The Environmental Horticulture program combines research in Data Development, Invasive Species Management, and Pollinator Protection to foster a diverse selection of healthy plants for bouquets, houseplants, landscapes, and urban forests.
